My Profile
I graduated in 2023 from Shattuck-St. Mary's Forest City International School, Johor Bahru. I was born in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, but spent the first 5 years of my life in Brunei. I started my education at Jerudong International School in 2008 before moving to Miri, Sarawak in 2011, where I joined Tenby International School Miri (formerly Piasau Camp Shell School). My family and I stayed in Miri until 2015 before moving to Johor Bahru. I am the eldest of three siblings; I have a sister and a brother.
I am enthusiastic about environmental research because I believe it can shape my journey into a lifelong commitment to the planet. First and foremost, I am curious and want to continuously learn about the environmental and its sustainability. I also want to improve my critical thinking skills that would empower me with analytical skills study the many challenges our envirnonment faces from day to day.
The importance of empathy and global awareness needs to be instilled among youths and younger generations. Working collaboratively and as team in addressing complex environmental issues is important and requires participation of all.
Lastly, adaptability and openness to new ideas and technologies in environmental research to create a sustainable environment is needed more than before. The 21 century is one that sees rapid developments shaping in many parts of the world. As much as we want to preserve nature to its best, we cannot deny development for those societies which were deprived of these benefit.
Thus, my understanding is that, 'sustainable development' is the right and best offer to the world. All development should be based on sustainability.
